Kothaligad or Peth Fort is nestled in the famous Bhimashankar Wildlife Sanctuary near Karjat, Maharashtra. The trek ends at the fort, where the intricate architecture will blow your mind. The Cave of Goddess is the first cave with a water cistern and the Bhairoba Cave has flat floors and well-sculpted pillars adding to the antiquity of the Kothaligad. The steep rock-cut stairs of Bhairoba Cave lead to the pinnacle of the fort, which still stores some cannonballs and water tanks.
Kothaligad rises to an altitude of approximately 2,033 ft. The difficulty level of this one-day Trek in Maharashtra is easy. At 10: 30 our vehicle will begin the journey towards the base village.
05:30- Trek Begins
At dawn, the trek will begin from the base village Ambivli to reach the top of the Peth fort.
07:00 AM - Breakfast
After a tiring trek of 2-3 hours, trekkers will have breakfast. Post which the exploration of Kothaligad Architecture and Fort will begin.
12:00 PM- Explore Kothaligad
Explore the caves of Kothaligad and witness the scenic view of the entire Sahyadri range, post which th descend will begin.
01:00 PM - Lunch
The base village awaits to treat the trekkers with a delicious local delicacy and warm hospitality.
09:30 PM- End of a Beautiful Journey
The trek ends here.

You need to carry trekking shoes, a raincoat, a torch (headtorch preferable), trek pants, dry-fit t-shirts, glares, mobile cover, water bottle socks, sanitiser, mask & personal First Aid.
