Malshej Ghat trek, or the Ancient Ghaywat Jungle Trek, is an unforgettable ancient route known for being wild and is beautifully woven in the lush green thread of flora and fauna. The antique architecture of the spiritual places on the way to the top dates back to the 16th century. The trail offers rock-cut steps, carved idols of Lord Ganesha, seasonal river streams, and the divine earthy smell of the soil. You need to carry trekking shoes, a raincoat, a torch (headtorch preferable), trek pants, dry-fit t-shirts, glares, mobile cover, water bottle socks, sanitiser, mask & personal First Aid.
The trek difficulty ranges from easy to moderate. Do remember to check your BMI beforehand to analyse the difficulty rating for yourself (a higher BMI equals higher difficulty)
The trek alone takes 6-7 hours (including the return to the base village). You need 1 day to dive deep into the lush greens and turquoise waters of the Old Malshej Ghat trek along with breakfast, lunch and return to Pune or Maharashtra.
