Situated in the Visapur Village, forming a part of the Visapur-Lohagad fortification at an elevation of 1,084 m above sea level, the Visapur fort trek is everything an adventure junkie could ask for! The trek to reach the summit of the Visapur Fort goes through lush greenery, water cisterns, flour mills, old house ruins, and wells. Visapur Fort Trek is the best winter trek and the second-best monsoon trek in the hills of Sahyadri, Maharashtra. The major attractions of Visapur Fort like Bhaja Caves, Amrutanjan Point, Bhushi Lake, and Duke’s Lake are the reasons why this trek is rated as the best trek in Maharashtra. The Visapur Fort is larger and at a higher elevation than its twin fort - Lohagad, giving it strategic value over the latter.
The difficulty level of this one-day trek in Maharashtra is moderate as the terrain leading to the pinnacle of Visapur Fort is slightly slippery and steep. The distance of Visapur Fort from Mumbai, and Pune is 107 km and 60 km respectively.

At 10: 30 our vehicle will begin the journey towards the base village.
03:30 AM- Trek Begins
Trekkers will begin their trek at around 3:30 AM to reach the top by approximately 7:00 AM.
07:00 AM - Breakfast & Explore
After a tiring trek, trekkers will rest and have breakfast while witnessing the surreal panoramic view of the entire valley from the top of Tikona Fort.
12:00 PM - Explore Visapur Fort
Ascend to the top of the fort by climbing the steep rock-cut stairs with the vast open valley of the Western Ghats.
2:00 PM - Lunch
Trekkers will be treated to delicious local delicacies and warm hospitality.
10:00 PM - End of a Beautiful Journey
Bid farewell to the trek buddies as the trek ends here.

You need to carry trekking shoes, a raincoat, a torch (headtorch preferable), trek pants, dry-fit t-shirts, glares, mobile cover, water bottle socks, sanitiser, mask & personal First Aid.
The trek difficulty rises up to moderate because of the slightly slippery and steep terrain during monsoon. Remember to calculate your BMI beforehand to analyse the difficulty rating for yourself (a higher BMI equals higher difficulty).
The ascend alone takes approximately 2 hours and a similar span of time is consumed while descending to the base.
